About me

Larry Adeyanju whose full name is Lanrewaju Monzur Adeyanju is a lecturer of English Language at the University of Basilicata, Potenza, Itay. Born to Nigerian parents in 1957 he had most of his education in Europe – Paris in France and mostly in the UK. He is one of the first students of the International Student Exchange finishing his Language academic preparation at the University of Perugia in Italy. The love for Italy and made him  choose to live and teach  in Italy. He has been an English Language Lecturer at the University of Basilicata since 1984 till today. Amongst his many preferable  authors used in teaching are Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Nadine Gordimer, Toni Morrison and many others not necessarily African or African-American writers including Khaled Houseini. He enjoys teaching English through  Literature and with the aid of contemporary writers of all walks of life, cultures and faiths.

Larry has travelled extensively to almost all European countries and far away  places such as Malaysia, India, China, Indonasia, New Zealeand, Australia, Argentina, The Galapagos and Ecuador, Kenya, South Africa to mention but few. This is also because he owns a small private and family run travel agency – Magic Trips – in his residence city of Potenza, Italy. The travel agency is a follow-up of his first private enterprise started  in 1985 –  Angloschool. The students of the private English Language school and his University students prompted him to specialise in study trips helping students, children and adults improve their knowledge of Languages by carrying out study trips to many cities  such as; London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Malta, Miami, New York, Los Angeles getting them to obtain not only a fluent knowledge of the language but also to live the experience of travelling for studies and the cultures of the country visited. Magic Trips then had a special department for studies which is called Vacanzerstudi.com. Through this specialisation in study trips he has been able to send students abroad for full year study abroad to different countries. Italian students quickly made the best of his contacts and got sent abroad to do their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in important universities all over the world.  He has also extended the study trips not only to English Language speaking countries but also to other  countries such as Spain, France, Germany. This family private business is a provider for study abroad projects for Italian students. Magic Trips has carried out many PON projects (European Union funded trips )  on behalf of many Italian Secondary schools in the south of Italy.

Larry Adeyanju is also an editorial writer and columnist with a free press based in  his home town of Potenza – Controsenso. He writes weekly articles in English addressed to students and those who would like to improve their knowledge  of English though the newspaper though the newspaper is mainly Italian. Controsenso is a popular news paper in Basilicata Region of Italy.

He not only teaches for the Faculty of Humanities of the University but also ESP (English for Special Purposes) for other faculties such as Science, Engineering, Agriculture etc  at the University of Basilicata, Potenza.
